Lucia Miklánková focuses her practice on international arbitration. She has represented clients in cases governed by various substantive and procedural laws. Her experience includes proceedings conducted under, among others, the ICC Rules, the CAS Code, and the Vienna Rules.
In addition to her dispute resolution work, Lucia Miklánková assists clients in the structuring, negotiation and drafting of the contractual framework for their international projects. In particular, she has handled the negotiation of complex engineering and construction contracts, including with state authorities. She has also been involved in the preparation of related project finance documentation, collaborating with numerous financial institutions in different jurisdictions around the world.
Prior to joining Paragon, Lucia Miklánková worked for several years as an international in-house counsel at a prominent French multinational concession and construction company. Before that, she served as an intern for a Slovak attorney specialising in civil and commercial matters, as well as insolvency law.
Lucia Miklánková is a member of several international associations, including ArbitralWomen, Austrian Arbitration Association, Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP), Young ITA, YIAG, ICC YAAF, American Bar Association (ABA), ArbCEE, and the Slovak Society of International Law.
Lucia Miklánková studied law in Slovakia (Matej Bel University), France (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre, Université Paris II Assas), and the United States (Columbia Law School). She also participated in the Hague Academy of International Law and the London School of Economics Summer School in International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration. While at Columbia, she was a board member of the Columbia International Arbitration Association and served as a research assistant to Professor George A. Bermann. In this capacity, she contributed to a publication project focused on international investment law and an amicus curiae brief to the US Supreme Court.
